Elizabethan Middle Class Doublet Sleeve
This close up shows the sleeve. It is open down the front to allow it to be closed or open as the weather permits. The sleeve is also removable. This was the 1500's answer to cold castles and the fact that Europe was going through a mini Ice Age. Temperatures were very changeable.
