Late-Italian Renaissance Costume Sleeve Roll Close-up
These sleeve roll where made from piped strips of the lighter velvet sewn over a padded roll covered with the darker velvet. They were first constructed and then wip stitched on to a compleated arm hole. These are not loop tabs that are sewn into the sleeve allowance of the arm hole opening and then stuffed. The sleeve head fullness is gathered into cartrage pleats between bound ilets for the sleeve ties.
