The
photo below shows the partlet with the collar closed.
This is a very easy way to achieve the high neck look so popular in Elizabethan
times. The collar is flexible and cool. Silk organza is easy to care for, just
hand wash and press no starch necessary. None of the gathers are sewn in so,
when the draw strings are open the collar lays flat for pressing. As shown

the partlet
goes over the corset which is over the square
necked
chemise (left). The base of the partlet has a casing with a drawstring that ties
over the corset and can be adjusted
so that there is an inverted "V" opening in the center front (right).
