Photo 12. Lower half of an embroidered linen outer sleeve. There are two different metallic decorations used in this sleeve. The square one over the frog closure is a modern button sold by JHB. In this case it is not used as a button but a decoration. The other half of the frog also has one. The other metallic decoration is used to attach the inner sleeve and outer sleeve to each other. They create gaps where the cotton chemise sleeve can puff through.
