Photo 13. In this close up of the test square from photo 8 you can see my take on using metallic pieces as design elements with the crescent shaped filigree medallions. In this case they cover up an uninteresting section of the fabric. They are sewn on to the fabric with gold metallic thread. There are also large pearls and clusters of carnelian beads and to the left you can see part of the padded motif that has been edged with small pearls. These small pearls are pre-strung molded pearls that have been couched on with gold thread.
