Doublet Closures
Below is a picture of the doublet which shows the hook and eye closures. The
hooks and eyes are sewn into the seam allowance between the wool and the linen
lining.
The extra edge of "V" pinked wool down the left front hides the narrow gap that
might
otherwise show down the center front.
There is a similar edge on the collar and sleeve cuff edge.
